What’s everyone think, a yellow coturnix quail chick with grey stripes? I can’t seem to find a definite answer lol!

The stripes are not black, nor are they brown, the stripes are grey.

I’ve read “Italian” I’ve read some version of Italian, I’ve read some version of silver, I’ve read something else now I can’t remember

I know it’s pretty hard to tell until they grow feathers which won’t be long anyway! But I’m curious... lol!

Yellow with grey stripes whatcha think?

What kind of bunnies are these?

I think I need the darker grey one.

The momma is a mix including american chinchilla and Flemish giant, she has the chinchilla coat. The dad is a new zealand red. They are so flipping soft right now.

Bunny update: the babies turned 2 weeks on Saturday. They are furry and their eyes just opened in the last few days. They are extremely soft and adorable. Starting to get curious and explore their surroundings. It looks like there might be at least 3 color variations.

So, the good news is that I did not die on my winter survival trip.

The bad news is they decided to take us out in 4+ feet of unbroken snow in the worst blizzard of the winter so far on a windward slope, almost half the class went hypothermic, and we emergency packed out around midnight in said blizzard which actually gave me first degree frostbite on three fingers. Yayyy.

The extra good news is that it is LOCKDOWN!

I think I will cull my splay leg ones today. Breaks my heart watching them try to get around

Can't see any other pips on the last few eggs in there, so we might be finished hatching. Now we're just making a big mess!
