➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Actually, that's not totally true, some of his breast feathers have black splotches. But the overall effect is really different than the sort of tricolor banding. I bred him to a pharoah and got a few that looked like him and a few lacies and one exactly in between.
That color in your profile picture is beautiful. I love it!

Yes! The whole dang family!
You might have to install one of those “Ring” doorbells for your coop. It turns video on to your phony when there is activity or motion. You can talk to them through your phone and yell at them!!:lau Scare them off from anywhere??:gig:confused:

:thstill just the 1 pip....some real slow pokes here!! I will definitely be recalibrating my temp at the end of this hatch!! I was going to double check it last night with the oral thermometer but unfortunately it got “misplaced” during the March illness here.

@CoturnixComplex  about the attempted break-in:hugs
do you report these incidents to fish and game?? relocation?? we only have the extremely rare occurrence of a bear sighting where a rogue has crossed the river so I cannot even imagine!!

Had 27 last night, one died :(
Had another pip and start to zip, but died overnight. Other eggs still have movement, so I'm leaving them for now, but I'm not optimistic. It's very dry in my house and keeping humidity up has been tough.
You can get humidifiers for under $10 on Amazon.

@Texas Kiki.....30 jumbo eggs from purely poultry is $60 free shipping, kcquail $40 free shipping, myshire $15 + shipping (currently about a 2 week waitlist)
advantage to purely poultry and kcquail is 12 and 15 egg minimum vs 30 @ myshire
Thanks.
I hurried up and checked Purely Poltry last night and I see that you can place an order so I assume that means they have some in stock.

I need to try to call Myshire again to see about getting on a waitlist.

No gas this morning. The meter seized some how and the bad company had to replace it. We got a chill in the house. Now the gas is working again. I am hoping that my incubator stayed warm enough all night/ morning. They are not quail eggs - turkeys and chickens. I really want turkeys and this is the second attempt at hatching eggs from fellow BYC members. The first ones turned out infertile. I am not sure I could take another failure though.

Wow! It’s sooo wet here. (Which is unusual.) All I have to do is tip a teensy bit from a water bottle into the edge of the bater and the humidity shoots way the heck up there.
