Orpington
Dorking
We have 1Dorking, and 2 English Orps. One of the Eng Orps does not like to be touched but is still a sweet girl. The other Eng Orp and the Dorking are 2 of my favorites. Both love to be handled and will criss cross my feet as I walk.

The Dorking in particular goes with me to my son's bus stop to pick him up about every other week. The kids love to pet her and she is completely cool with it too. She'll just perch on me and start chattering to me. It's very common for her to spend 15+ minutes just sitting on me, every once in a while even take a nap.

My most friendly breeds would be my barred rock for sure and my RIR. Some of my Easter Eggers are extremely personable and some of them are super flighty

I have comets, NHR, BR, RIR, leghorn, EE, bantams and Buff and blue Orps..the Orps are my favorite. They are gentle, they let me hold them. We did not raise them from hatchlings...but they are sweet, let me hold and pet them all the time. They are also sturdy and good layers who live a long time. For me, they are my best choice so far!

Do you agree about the dorkings being less affectionate? Also how are the Jersey Giants? Docile like eat out of your hand or docile like follow you around and get in your lap? Sorry for all the questions lol

Dorkings are not cuddly in my experience and seem, by nature, more wary of threats. BJG will eat out of your hand, but so far, not lap pets. Besides, they are the largest breed (according to APA standards), so not as likely to be as comfortable on your lap.

I love faverolles! I’ve never had/met one but from what I’ve read, they seem to be little darlings. Definitely on my future list of possibilities ;) I don’t think I’ve ever heard of ISA browns. Where did you get yours?
The ISAs came from Tractor Supply, and are an egg laying hybrid, a brown sex link. And Faverolles, with their muffs and beards and beautiful plumage, are certainly characters!

Oh my goodness! Your Dorking sounds like an absolute treasure! I’ve heard so many mixed things about them, but it seems when they’re friendly, they’re over-the-top puppy friendly! (Which is exactly what I want ;))
