Hello...can I just say that I am enjoying all your posts! I have had my chicks for almost 6 weeks now and I am so wrapped up in them. When we got them my kids where so excited snd they were so adorable....we were given a 90% pullet guarantee. ..but now I am getting worried :( my little guy is very attached to his black chickies and I am afraid they r both roos and we definitek

sorry had a keyboard malfunction :( anyway we definitely can't keep them where we r and I am beside myself...I don't want to break his heart...the black chicks in question are our jersey giants...we also have two buffs, two speckled Sussex and my favorites two light brahmas...I think all but one of the sussexs are pullers but can we really tell at six weeks?

here are some pic of our chicks as day olds...

this is one of daffodil and shadow...this is one we aren't sure of but here it was only two weeks old...just by the way it stands gives me pause :( but it is a jersey giant and they r supposed to get big....I just don't know...hopefully I can post a better updated picture to get everyone's opinion soon.... shadow is so skittish that it is hard to get a good shot

daffodil and dale...that is the speckled Sussex that we r sure is a roo...at just about 7 weeks now he was doing this thing with his neck...looked like he was choking but I believe it was the head movement that occurs when Roos crow

and here is dale our speckled Sussex who is showing signs of rooster hood....I also have another question....I had the chicks in their coop for the first time last night and when they went out there their combs were a pale yellowish color and now some of them have pinkish red ones....does it happen that fast? is it just a weird coincidence that the color is changing and them being in a little colder surrounding?

Watch your waterer underneath. I had the exact same one and it was leaking. I bought a different kind that didn't have holes where the tabs are.
