My almost-three-and-a-half Isa Brown Lucy LOVES purple stuff! Blueberries, red/black grapes, red cabbage etc, she sees it, she’s on it like a seagull on a chip. Whereas my nine-month old Australorp pullet Charlie, if I put down purple food she’s like “Meh, whatevs! Where’s the strawberries?!” :lau

People are always surprised when I tell them the girls have likes and dislikes. People do not think that they taste what they eat but they have definate favorites.

She's adorable. Look at that cute little baby blep (tongue sticking out)!

I hope the operation goes smoothly and she's happy and bouncing in no time. All the best to you and your family Bob :fl:love:hugs

I really appreciate your well wishes. Thank you so much.

Big Day Friday

In a response to @WhoDatChick above I alluded to family challenges recently. I have decided to share. You are all so wonderful I feel I need to do so.

I will not be posting much on the flock this weekend as I am with my daughter, her husband, and my 3 month old granddaughter, Eve.View attachment 1886175
Little 7 lb Eve (the same size as Hattie) has a hole in her heart and will be having open heart surgery tomorrow around lunchtime here. If all goes well they will close the hole and she will grow up a normal little girl. The surgery has a high success rate but it's still my little grandbaby. I will post again so everyone knows the outcome but I wanted my chicken family to know.

Its been a crazy couple of months. Hopefully all goes well and things start to move forward again for us.

Sending many payers your way Bob. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

My eggs from this morning!! The brown is from Digger, my Buff Orp. The green is from Blanche, and the white is from Vickie my California White.

Bob, I have succumbed to chicken math!

The bloke at the saddlery said that the Olive Egger pullets he has are all laying various shades of green so I thought I'd try again.

This is Pepper. She is about 10 weeks old and is an Australorpe X Araucana I think.

I couldn't get any closer for the photo, she's not socialized yet :hmm

Congratulations. She is so cool looking. More chickens is always more better. :gig

My wife has fallen in love with @Dona Worry polish chickens and wants more now. I'm trying to hold stable until next year at least.
