I tried so hard not to ask.Oops, probably should have thought that one through before I posted it!
Amazing! Those are super cool trees.Totally not chicken-related, but today we toured the Allerton Botanical Garden! These Moreton Bay Fig Trees were featured in the film Jurassic Park. I thought you all would appreciate the beauty:

I've really been enjoying your integration updates. I've been noticing some new names and faces in your flock since I've last been on here! I feel like I've missed out on a lot during my absence, but I am glad to be back!Integration Update #6
Betty and Glynda decided that with fence between them, they could groom together. in a minute or two, Lady Featherington joined in with them. So peaceful
No rats no signs of anything else than the chickens.Rats, skunks and opossums, foxes, among others, will eat eggs. Might you have rats? They will come out during the day if it is in a darkish or protected spot....
I love this photo of MaggieMaggie stopped by for a chat. She had a lot to say about Lulu’s nest box choosing shenanigans and about Bernadette trying to take her spot on the roost.
I think she also apologized to me for giving me such a hard time when I give her antibiotics. She definitely did not commit to making it any easier for the remaining doses.
I like that she comes to chat. I am just sitting here reading. No treats. So unless she comes for the literature, she must just like to chat.
I love that about her.
That makes a lot of sense. When my mothers chickens killed their flock mate it was when they were locked up extra long one morning. When they were out and about (usually all day on several acres) there was only the normal squabbles.
That is good progress!Observations
For several days I have had Gucci following me back into the big run and over to the ramp. Until tonight I have always had to put her on the ramp to get her to go up.
Tonight for the first time she went up the ramp once she was there. Once up the ramp she will follow my wiggling fingers into the coop.
This was the first time she ever made the trip without me picking her up. I am hopeful that she can start to find her way on her own at some point.
I'm not certain why she can't find her own way. I wish I knew why it is so but at least we are making progress.
The side effect of all this is that Gucci will come to me when I call her.
