Fingers crossed she makes a complete recovery. I know all too well what it’s like to lose girls to reproductive issues.

Thank you. She’s my third with reproductive issues and Dorothy has them, two. And maybe Bridge. Darn hatchery girls. I love them so much and hate seeing them suffer.

Every night I count 32 birds in the coop. If I don't count 32, I will scour the whole property late into the evening to find her/him, If I don't locate the missing bird, I panic. I know EXACTLY how you feel!

You are awesome! I’d do the same (but I only have 10.)

This is a repeat of last nights supper. Treacle 'encourages' Fat Bird away from the food so his two can eat in peace. Moon takes no chances; she also seems to think that is her chair.
If I sit on it she'll grudgingly budge over a bit.
Note the dust yet again.
The culprit is in the last picture try to be nice to me.

Sad News that Does Not Directly Effect the Flock

The pool claimed 2 victims Wednesday night. I found 2 of the baby bunnies dead in the pool, one right by the critter saver. It's possible the baby died before it ever got there but it is not a great look. There are pictures attached but I am not ending. The ladies did come to see the babies to see what happened.



The bunnies were not back tonight.

The pool claimed 2 victims Wednesday night. I found 2 of the baby bunnies dead in the pool, one right by the critter saver. It's possible the baby died before it ever got there but it is not a great look. There are pictures attached but I am not ending. The ladies did come to see the babies to see what happened.



The bunnies were not back tonight.

My Australorp and Faverolles came from breeders so I’m hoping that’s the last of reproductive issues!

So it was quite warm here today (86°F on record, but it’s usually a few degrees warmer in my yard in the sun). I am so glad I bought two Arctic Cove bucket mister fans a couple years ago. I aim them low in the run and it’s like air conditioning for the chickens! They run on rechargeable power tool batteries. It will get at least 20° hotter on some days this summer, but the girls handle heat better when it comes on gradually vs. overnight.

BTW, that’s little Rusty, my New Hampshire Red who got EYP at the tender age of just under one year! This was a few months later, when she had a good run after very intensive care, but I lost her just 3 months after this photo.

She is. She's not the brightest spark in the box & something of a klutz but she is very lovely.
