It sure what’s up with Truly, but she quite lame, she has been gimpy for a couple weeks now but just thought it was her fall in the stall.

Now tonight when I went to check the chickies were in bed, and feed horses for the night I noticed she was really lame! Anyways I dosed her with Phenalbutisone (Bute for short), it’s like aspirin- I will reassess in the morning. Wonder if she is brewing an abscess in her hoof? I love abscesses - the horse looks like it’s dying, and when you pop the abscess in their hoof it’s instant relief and they go and walk away like nothing happened!

Poor Truly she’s not young anymore (20).

Yard was dormant again and I had to top the pool off on Saturday. This rain is God sent but most of it will run off sadly. We need days of rain.

Same here need steady moderate rain for a couple days. But just get torrential buckets which runs off too fast.

Yup that is what happened here when it last rained. 3” and it just rushed over the surface. This feels better - softer rain and looks like multiple hours.

Bernadette tried to tip Maggie off the roost. That did not go so well.
She seems to have accepted her place at the end. At least for tonight.

Remind us where in her little group she roosted, was she on an end? If she wasn't, that may be part of it, she wouldn't be used to being on an end?

The Hooligans didn’t have a completely set order but Bernie was often on an end.

There’s Dakota running all over the yard, when she knows that it’s bedtime. I’m exhausted chasing chooks to bed! But the deed is done

I had perch time drama too (so I understand), but then I just added more roosts, and stopped the nighttime arguments.

These three have a choice of 5 roosts. One roost is 10’ long but they all crowd together.
