And the icing on the cake: to clean out the ashes, flip a release, remove a panel inside it, sweep everything into the drawer in the base and take out the drawer. I'm now mulling where to put the ashes so the chickens can bath in them....probably one or more of the tires along the deck...

They will love the ashes as a bath for certain. I assume you cut your own wood.

Permit for national forest is (or was. Dunno if it has gone up) $20 for 8 cords. It helps get the beetle kill and other wildfire fuel out. It only allows dead trees to be cut.
