Chiquita's chicks are 6 weeks old. I'm very confident the mix is a pullet. Hoppy the silkie, I have no clue. At this point I feel like I should call Hoppy a boy and hope to be proven wrong. Rosie finally gave the mix chick a name.
I present to you all, Goose.

It is raining so I was only able to get a few pictures. Let us all admire Twiggy. He may not be crowing but there is no denying anymore that he is Branch's handsome Son. I'm keeping him, mom even likes him although she realized in the last few days he is a boy as well. She was holding him last night and told him as long as he did not act like his daddy he had a home for life. If he beat up his daddy and knocked him down a peg or two, she is buying him shrimp. Yes when she said that I almost fell off my chair and Branch crowed at her with prompting.

Mom also loves a beard and top hat on a normal feathered chicken.

Sorry, I'm just getting to this. The best way I have ever found to deal with wasp stings is to immediately mix up a bit of baking soda and water to make a slightly runny paste and put it on the sting area. In a matter of minutes the pain is gone, no swelling, and you can get on with life as if nothing happened. I've done this numerous times on myself and on my kids when they got stung. It has never failed me.
I really do have to get more bakingsoda… lol also for the goats to manage their rumen. I had some pretty weird scented baking sofa based litter box deodorizer stuff, but didn’t think that was the best idea…
