Grey squirrels are an accepted part of our landscape now and have all but wiped out our native red squirrels due to competition for food.
A few years back we went on a day trip to Brownsea Island, in Poole Harbour just off the south coast of the UK. As it is an island, the squirrel population can be controlled and invasive species kept out. It is home to approximately 300 red squirrels; they were so, so beautiful, bursting with vigour and vitality.
That is very cool. That must have been fun to see.

It has very complex themes on society. I don't know that it is sad as much as it is shocking that the bunnies are not nice to each other. Even cruel. It's actually quite a grown up book.
Lilly is a complex lady and as such is interested in how to best run her flock. Any enjoyable treatises on how to best organize a society and most importantly, maintain order, are of interest to her.

Knowing that, Mr. Bunny suggested the book.

I just fed the family. That roo is at it again! BEN just sits there and watches as if to say, "been there, done that" All the rest, just want to eat and drink. I'm concerned about FB, she is losing weight, I noticed last night.
Weight Loss is a serious concern that needs investigating.

You probably know all this but I would start with making sure she had good consistent access to food. After that, I would visit a vet if you have access. If not, can you get her poo tested for worms, etc.? You might consider worming her.

So sorry about FB. Hope you can get some food in her while she is inside with you.

I'm thinking that she FB, is the smallest hen, and gets bullied and cheated out of feed. I will do all I can. :fl

Well, I just cannot keep up with this thread. Every time I check in here there are pages and pages of posts. I gave up for a while, and now coming back fresh, I'm still pretty lost every day. :lau You all sure are talkative!

Happy Mothers' Day to all the moms out there. I'm heading out to see my little chicken mama and her baby. Maybe bring her a special treat for her special day.
