Or maybe the lovely Hattie has taken on the role of mentor and has come to evaluate her protege's offering? Thanks! I cut Hattie out of the photo. I think she was coming over to eat the egg. Check this unedited version!

It is the plan to tile the floor but I must raise the funds first. It is not cheap unfortunately.![]()
Alice is looking gorgeous!
Good idea - you can get rubber mats quite cheaply and can just hose them down - and they are nice to walk on.You could just put down a rug or carpet off cut in the mean time. Something that's easy to shake out.
If Bob's happy to have your "non-chicken" stuff here, I'm happy to watch it. Wrens are honorary chickens aren't they?Diaper change maybe?
@BY Bob I promise I won't bore the group on your thread with non-chicken stuff but as we have some knowledgeable folk here I am curious what you think is going on here.
First it is clear that there are three live baby wrens.
But look in the second half when he is given something to remove from the nest. What could that be?
I think they are as safe or safer than they would be anywhere else. The cats don't go into the garage so that is OK, and I don't think foxes would dare come into the big coop. I also do close the garage doors after dark.If Bob's happy to have your "non-chicken" stuff here, I'm happy to watch it. Wrens are honorary chickens aren't they?
Not wanting to be a a scare monger RC but do you think they are safe from cats and other predators where they are ?
I know from watching David Attenborough documentaries that wild birds remove poop from the nests but I didn't know that they put it in a garbage bag first!![]()
I would love it. You are most welcome to do so here.I should post some pictures of my dearly departed girls. I had the thought of starting my own thread one day, but I don’t think I’d be able to keep up with four threads! I’m happy enough posting stuff on your thread, if it’s ok with you.
Thank you!
When I let them out for free range time today she jumped up and balanced on the low gate barrier (stops the dogs nosing their way in under the gate and eating all the chook food). As she wobbled there for a moment I got to admire her full feathering including her fluffy butt!
It's such a relief to have her warmly covered again.
Watership Down, Mr. Bunny turned her on to it.What was she reading Bob?
