Mugs Monday shots.
First 2 up are Karen and Lilly. There has been some comb and wattle development in the last week. Based on these changes I think both girls may lay now by mid-October. Lilly has shown the biggest change.

Angry fluff Chiquita. She is ready to lay her first egg since her break for motherhood. Her chosen nest, is currently occupied. She is not happy and has complained for a hour.
DSCN8850.JPG

Wasabi, the guilty culprit and recipient of Chiquita's protesting. Frankly, she could care less.
DSCN8853.JPG

Goose, sadly Goose will not sport any fancy hair-dos.
DSCN8854.JPG

Goose and Hoppy. I think this picture shows how tiny they still are even at almost 8 weeks old. They are standing next to a milk crate.
DSCN8856.JPG

Branch and 2 of his girls, he is also keeping a watchful eye on Goose and Hoppy.
DSCN8857.JPG

Squirrel, on her way to lay her egg. She wants to kill me as I now have to climb up on top of the hay stack to gather hers and a few other girls eggs.

Finally Bunny, 4 days into trying to convince her she is NOT hatching again.....It is not going well. Why is it not going well? She has several co-conspirators contributing eggs to her that I have to painfully remove.

Lilly is in her happy place near a huge azalea bush. She can often be found dust bathing under it. I think she knows it is a very safe covered place that she can relax.

First night in the coop:

I got the kids dropped off at school this morning and then went out to check on the Tweens.

I was greeted by Oreo (the big BCM Roo) peeking his head around the corner. I brought them some feed mixed with warm water to help shake off what I am sure was a chillier night then they have experienced thus far. Everyone was super excited by that treat.

They all looked great however I did notice this:

Looks like I do have a surprise Roo .. sigh the deepness of the red makes it undeniable … that makes three so far.
