Lady F looks like she will be your first layer. I would watch her, closely. I do not think this week, but she is at the stage where it will seem overnight those wattles and comb will pop. Going by what I see, she will lay somewhere in the first week of October. Glynda and Gucci, it would not shock me to find them wait until spring to begin laying. Glynda based on comb color, and Gucci simply because of her leg issue she had. These girls that come of age this time of year are tricky though. They may be old enough, but will there still be enough daylight hours in the day to kickstart the process is the big question. I will have to go out and get pictures of Lilly and Karen. They are coming close to the age of laying, but going by comb, Karen will lay this fall, Lilly I think will wait until spring.
And @bgmathteach too - as far as laying age and daylight hours. The Buckeyes hatched July 6 and the first egg was January 2. They kept laying steadily through the winter. Frequency increased come April though!

Betty finally came by for her head shot.

Dear Phillys,

I know I am just a normal suburban gal, but I am interested in developing a modeling career. Would you give me some advice? I have attached a teaser.

Sincerely,
Foxy

Dear Foxy,

I spoke with Phyllis this morning regarding your request for advice. She said Miranda Kerr put it best when she said,

“A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose. All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too. I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness.”

Phyllis says to embrace your own uniqueness as you are a very pretty lady in your own way.

She also says to remember, when in front of the camera you have to connect for that frame. You have to connect to the photographer and whoever views the image. You have to maintain that connection and must stay within that moment until the shot is complete.

And of course eat well to stay fit but always remember it is ok to have some meal worms to stay sane.
