I bet it was tops 20 seconds for all that!

Seemed like forever, but in reality it was only about 20 seconds.
Over too quickly to get video unless you're already recording. Happens like that here consistently
Noooo!

They have a dream 🥰

I did and I put it in the middle nest box, fluffy must have hopped up, rolled it out and on the ground, I found her sitting on the ground in the shavings brooding over that golf ball 🤨

This morning she was in the bottom nest box and I asked her ‘why are you there? Did Marty give you an egg?’ Sure enough there was a pink egg there, Marty is happy to give her eggs!

But ya I have to get rid of the golf balls, won’t help though they will sit on nothing!
They'll stop sitting if they're on snowballs/ice cubes...

Oh they love to stress us so much.

Dorothy was staggering around in circles for a couple weeks didn’t want to walk - had me freaked out, but when she was startled she could darn well stand tall, and run fast! So I didnt think neurological, the only thing I could think was her pin feathers being painful.

Could Maggie be just sore from the molt, and not wanting to be painful with her feathers?

Also how about a 4x4 laid in the nest box for her to sit on and help keep her butt off the poop.
You are reading my mind.
I will leave it to daylight now as she has settled in.
I was thinking a 4x4 or maybe build up the front half of the nest box with bricks (covered in a layer of wood shavings of course) so she doesn't have to actually roost in case she prefers to sit for some reason. Either way she can then poop off from a higher point.

Oh no! That’s just to much ! Say it aint so!!!!

Please keep it hahaha.

Can’t wait for that first snow, when the kiddies stand in the barn doorway and bok bok bok at me to make it go away!
Mine charge the coop door (either one) and pull up short.....the pileup behind the front runners is hilarious. They each have to take a closer look, but heaven forbid ANYONE test it until all have looked.

@TX Chick Noob

Inky is officially broody again for the third time this year. The eggs she's sitting on is no longer fertile. ☹️

--First time: May 7th. Lasted 2 weeks.
--Second time: July 1st. Lasted 29 days. After she gave up, she started molting, then the whole being bullied drama. We've probably had peace for only a month. Currently she is even quite high on the pecking order. I guess she decided she is fit again, so she is going for a

Inky gave up today. So broody from Sep 29 - Oct 15.

It was a brawl 😳

I could hear the commotion, and went to see, and there in the dirt for all to see,

Two tiny raptors, jumping to such a degree, one white and one black, a ferocious sight before me.

One would jump up, the other would too, and tearing out feathers and the dirt was flying too.

Fluffy grabbed hold, of Marty’s wee head, and twisted her down on the ground, then Marty fled,

But in flash she turned! and grabbed Fluffy by the neck, and jumped up, feet slashing, what a fight, oh she led.

Now In comes Henny, with an iron will, she jumps at Marty, on the the ground all three spill.

Quick as a flash Rose joins the fray, it must be the wind causing these clashes today.

Henny beats Rose off, and starts onto Marty, but Fluffy is trying her darnedest to be hearty.

Now Rose and then Henny are out of the way, leaving Marty to thrash Fluffy and chase her away.

And quick as can be, calm reigns again, while Fluffy defeated seeks safety from Me!
