Wow I want that here!

There were something like 13 states petitioning for it. When daylight savings was implemented, the way it read, states could decide to NOT go on it. There was nothing saying they could choose to NOT go OFF it. States had to petition one of the federal departments to stay on it. Approval came through late spring/early summer of this year, taking effect 2023. Apparently it had been tried in the past and the idea canceled due to extra accidents as people went to work in the dark (?). No idea where the trials were done. Kids go to the bus in the dark anyway in winter, people go to work in the dark or work based upon daylight not a clock (farm/ranch) around here anyway. I guess we're going to test it out again.

Cheetah was sporting a VERY rumpled tail look the other day, compliments the rest of his Royal Rumpledness.

And her comb lost the baby black color she'd been hanging on to literally overnight with her first egg.

Maizie is showing her Orpington roots with her over all size, and looking splendid having produced several green eggs

A fluff in profile as Nellie's tail feathers are still growing to reach her former lovely length.

And his Royal Rumpledness in all its splendor. He turned up the speed of his moult this week.

She's Gone

Gucci passed away this afternoon. We have been fighting to keep her going since the 19th. Today she decided she did not want to fight anymore.

I will bring everyone up to speed on everything that went on later. For now, there are 7 hens in residence at Fluffy Butt Acres.

Mrs BY Bob did not get to say goodbye. She is visiting Eve this weekend.
