She went with Natural. The widths don't matter because each pallet comes with a mix of widths. They are made from recycled milk and juice containers and look for all the world like real cedar shakes.
My house still has its original cedar shake roof so I wanted the Chicken Palace (which is very close to the house) to match, but Cedar needs maintenance with an oil that I was worried would be toxic to chickens, so I went for this recycled plastic stuff.
I have to say it honestly looks better than 'the real thing' on the house! And as an obsessive re-user I have found endless uses for the 'scrap' pieces left over!

Not-really-cedar-roof tax. The Chicken Palace showing the roof with a bit of the house roof too (can anyone spot the hidden chicken?), and baby Lulu and Bella.

Wow, that looks great! What are the dimensions...it really is huge!...and just how big is the 'pasture' attachment portion? (Where your hidden chicken ?Diana? is. )

What is that 'stuff' called...that sounds like a really good option. I hate using plastic....but I have gone with the plastic roofing panels because they are light, and water-proof. (Like the metal roofing ones better, but much more expensive and HEAVY on my small coops that were intended to be light enough to move...but I'm rethinking the extra weight versus durability & env. impact of horrid plastic...which I keep learning more & worse things about! :(

As you know, I need to replace my coop roof. Can you share info on those recycled plastic pieces? They are quite pretty.

Mr. Roo: love the blue wing tips
He got those from his handsome daddy....very similar looking to Cheeta (daddy is), but a big ole floppy comb on daddy...weird comb for an EE...I think he is a miz of a single comb with something else breed....

The book should still be in print. It's only about 10 years old. Author: b.j. novak
A clever book indeed and one that could make a parent go nut 😂.
And now Phyllis. They may just get it carved for Halloween!

It's funny how Phyllis kept trying to scratch it. That contrafreeloading impulse is strong in her.
At last! Pumpkin victory ! Great action from Phyllis 🙂.!
I missed if you cooked it a bit or did it just take them a lot of time to get used to it ?

My younger chickens eat pumpkins, but my ex-batts don't (Vanille did love squash though). The younger chickens grew spending a lot of time on the compost pile so they have much more open taste than the ex-batts, who had never tasted anything other than commercial feed when we got them at three months.

@ValarieF how are you doing today ? I hope your painkiller meds are helping you some.
@featherhead007 hope you are not feeling so sad today 🙁.

Here are the Friday butts, fluffy or not !

Piou-piou has Shakira's butt size to global size ratio.

Blanche has some fluff but no tail. It's not molting, her feathers are broken.

Cannelle's butt is painful 💔.

Gastounet's tail is almost nearly grown back. He should soon be over with molting!

Same for Léa.

And Merle, like Bernadette, believes Fluffy butts are overrated.
