It is OK. I will win her around eventually. I am hampered a bit in that she doesn't go wild for most treats. The thing she likes most is fresh corn on the cob. Diana was on my table eating one yesterday, Bernie is tall enough that she doesn't need to come up on the table to get the corn. But she did stand on my foot - so I will take that for now!

I believe in treating as well. As a precaution, just in case it is salpingitis.

Is there a withdrawal period when using amoxicillin? Or can one still eat the eggs?

I would suspect the levels would be so low in an egg…?

I once wrote up a long treatise on this. I will quote the experts.

According to poultry dvm the recommended withholding period is 1 day after treatment ends. So for a 5 day course. You discard all eggs produced while on the antibiotic plus any laid the day after treatment ends.

We can all agree that feels prudent.

This is very important information to me and I have saved it if needed in the future. My sister who finally loves my eggs developed a penicillin allergy when she was 10.

I just wish she liked me more.

You may find that her attitude changes when she starts laying. That was the case with my pullets. There are still some who don't like to be touched and I respect their wishes for the most part, but none are afraid.
