I know. Poor thing. My son was grossed right out.

I’m not sure yet. Just woke up after less than six hours of sleep. Chickens are unlikely to be resdy to come out yet and she went to the upper level last night after I went in there. I will check soon and update everyone.

I’m not sure. Seems greenish fluid is likely a gall bladder issue. I have a work trip Wednesday - Friday this coming week, so it doesn’t make sense to start antibiotics that would be interrupted. I’ll read up on it more.
Oil and vinegar works for humans I wonder if this in her meal with leafy salad may help 🤔

My girls had a lovely morning and afternoon

I agree. And think how she almost didn’t get a name because she was too small and might be a weakling.
I am getting the right one arent I @ManueB?
Yes, that's her. She was a little runt that couldn't fly, and I wasn't sure she would live, and that she was a she 😁. We used to call her Piou-piou in the meantime because that's supposed to be the sound chicks and baby bird make in french...and @RebeccaBoyd told us it was a good name to keep for her. This was her at two months old. I would never have believed she would be the first to lay, would elope with Gaston and become her hatch sister's bully.

Oh my what a lovely photo of her! Glad she made it and is now strong and healthy enough to be causing drama! ❤️

So, a question for anyone. I have yet to add nest boxes to my coop. My Teenagers are now deep into their 16th week of life. The website where I got them from lists 22 weeks as the average for laying age for all the breeds I received. Should I wait till then or put them in asap? Given that winter is upon us Idk if they would even start or if its likely to be delayed a bit till the days start lengthening again. Just pondering on how quickly I need to move to get them in place.

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving!

Yes that is what I remembered I also suggested Puou-piou was a good name.
I like seeing her grow strong and feisty!

If you have the time to do it now, it can't do any harm. Chickens are very curious and cautious about new things. I think it would be easier for them to lay in the nest boxes if they have seen them around for a while. If ever they do start laying at 22 weeks, they wont take the habit of laying elsewhere.

That said my chickens didn't start laying in the nice boxes my partner had built for them. In fact it took them more than a year to lay in those, and they tried five different locations inside the coop before 😁. Maybe ceramic eggs would help ?
