Again, No! Just say no to everything -10 C and below… head south… that is absolutely inhumane. Delicate west coast flower, wilting at the mere thought of those temperatures.
It’s, like 80F here in my well-site hahaha and the humidifier is blasting out moist air - lovely!

All this talk of ice and rain and snow….

And he goes and teases me with a bucolic summer scene… cruel!

You do know it’s like minus 60 out there right??

Here chickie chickie chickie….
My heavens… no. Just no. The white stuff happened here. I put in the heater it didn’t last a day. The ground is starting to unfreeze and return to mud. My feet got wet and cold today. -60??? I don’t do Fahrenheit, but I do know the teens are too cold for me. By a long shot.

Ya not to worry it’s only -27… not -60!

But ya I really wonder how people keep chickens and such up here!

@Lexicon we need your cold weather expertise with chickens!!!

NONE! Dry camp, I value my lovely job 😊

But the partridge berry cake in the freeze I bought from home is the berries mum strained from her brandy and made the cake with 😆
That’s good. Definitely good. Fruitcakes and pastries are allowed though. Well, my (late) mother in law’s rum balls could get me tipsy after about 5… I do wish Andrew had memorized that recipient and not just her shortbread cookies…

Thank you. This flu stuff is horrible. How is everyone else doing? Has anyone heard from @ValarieF?
Yes she has a terrible migraine 😢 I feel for her I get migraines also. Though not so much out here in Alberta. The weather isn’t as changeable out here as in Ontario.

A lot of people up around my uncle just process for the winter, and buy fresh POL, or keep indoors only for the few who maintain “pet” type flocks. Although I’ve seen some pretty interesting/hardy Alaskan coops online…
