He is a beautiful fellow. A good rooster is a real blessing.
good morning chicken lovers, I thought I would pop in and have a second cup of coffee with you,
have I told you how much I just love my rooster
When I went in last evening to close the coop door, he was talking to me as I fussed about, I picked him up [boy is he heavy] I talked to him and showed him what it looked like out the window and than I set him down in the nesting box. Well he walked back and forth in it, kind of inspecting it, then he started chatting at me again and fluffing the spot where the one hen has been laying her eggs. So, I said, "yes, Cornelius, good job fixing the nest, I see that, tut-tut-tut, thats the egg spot isnt it,,,," he kept chatting and I fluffed the other areas , then he was done, he hopped down and trotted off.

These are great mugs all!I had to be rescued and hoisted on an helicopter from a rock climbing site in my early thirties. It was my worse nightmare come true..but then the whole day was such a succession of nightmarish events my mind went blank and I didn't feel any fear. It all ended well. However, I lived in Nice for 15 years and none us can forget local Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat who died in a chopper accident aged 25.
Well you should keep trying, I think some of your photos are really good!

Super mugs!Last couple of days temps have been ABOVE FREEZING. Chickens came out for quite a while yesterday. I have new mugs! (And others). Most of the Adults stayed in, finishing growing in feathers.
View attachment 3347716Blanche has some new splash marks, especially around her neck.
View attachment 3347714View attachment 3347722Cheetah is supervising from above...has a bit of "bed head" going with the new feathers too. Still has a bit to go to be fully covered, but he's looking good. (He's also now noticeably the tiniest rooster as Horus as filled out more).View attachment 3347717Primula has been STUFFING herself. I think she's going to give Cuckoo a run on largest crop at bedtime.View attachment 3347718Mera is yelling at me....("make the ground warm" or "the boys a trying to pester me" or "where's the mealyworms?!"
View attachment 3347719View attachment 3347720View attachment 3347715Curious Nox is also yelling. Her preferred nest box was occupied by her sister.

Why do people not realize how unhelpful that is. What not talk to you about it afterwards when you can commiserate?I have been trying to keep it quite that I'm having the surgery. My grandmother has made sure everyone and their cousin knows I have to have it. The downside to this is all my aunts have had it done and they have called. To ask why it needed done so young. Then I get their recounts of theirs. All but 2 horror stories. Yup, that is just what I needed thank you. I also got what to do and what not to do before and after surgery. I really hate to hear the phone ring right now.
What a terrifying experience - I am glad it worked out OK.I had to be rescued and hoisted on an helicopter from a rock climbing site in my early thirties. CongratsOh and also, since I won that contest where you show your flock, I ordered a BYC Calendar and I'm waiting for the arrival.
Ohhhh yes pre surgery “advice” is really quite unhelpful unless its from your doctor. I agree with BY Bob just hang on to those stories till after it is done! Pregnancy advice is in the same category. Even complete strangers will chime in on what you should or shouldn’t be doing or regale you with a, how thing went horribly wrong, story.I have been trying to keep it quite that I'm having the surgery. My grandmother has made sure everyone and their cousin knows I have to have it. The downside to this is all my aunts have had it done and they have called. To ask why it needed done so young.
