I feel disappointed. Just looked out the window and there is no snow. Just some not-so-good hecking icy rain. At least I've got some icicles to take photos of. I might have to check on the chickens and cat to see how they're doing.

That's amazing.Dear Aurora
I just finished your current commentary and was intrigued by your insightful suggestions.
As a up and coming leader in the Way of The Chicken I must say you suggestions surrounding insurrection are of interest to me.
You see I recently landed myself a Man Chicken who is at my beck and call, it has emboldened me so much that I was able to take down a Human, now granted this Human wasn’t expecting my attack; but it gave me the idea that making an unexpected attack is the way to gain status- as such o have started with the other of my kind (I am a Silkie), and managed to pretty much pummel the pretty little Curly Girlie whom the Human panders to.
I tried to take on Henny Penny but she’s a tough one- I continue to sneak attack her.
It is the Way Of The Chicken as you point out.
Again thank you oh majestic one and may all your attacks be bold and hearty.
Sincerely Wee Marty Pompei.

That is one smart lady.If it is used as a coop, then it IS A COOP. There are all kinds of coops out there. Again, it if is home to chickens, ducks, 'poultry', it is a coop. Enter the Chilly coop contest! The worst that will happen is that you don't win...and you won't win if you don't enter...so no different than that!!!
Oy vey, I am really hitting the tax 'jackpot' tonight!Won't I ever learn to not respond - so I can avoid taxes????
Chicken jail, ha ha ha.

Escape artist, notice she is the ONLY one on the wrong side of the fence? She always watches for when I flip up the top to give them more food and water - and strategically plots her flight path to avoid my 'grabbing hand' trying to catch her and keep her in!

It is a great coop as well!Amen to that! My chickens’ coop is a refurbished redwood playhouse! You can see it behind Dorothy here. (It has way more ventilation than appears in the photo.)

That is very clever!I use bubble wrap on the windows of the mud room.
Best way is to have it inside and bubbles facing the glass.
If you spritz the window with water the bubble wrap will stick to the window on its own.
It actually works quite well as an insulator - worth a couple of degrees in my mud room. And it still lets in the light.
For human enjoyment. Just so the chicken looks the way they want it to. Disgusting.I didn't read it. It's just sickening abuse
Hi Dorothy. Mozzarella also wants to say hi... and Grandma's derrier can also be seen. That extra leg in the background is Tony. See what I mean about being camera shy? Sometimes, he's like this but he's molting so that's an explanation.Amen to that! My chickens’ coop is a refurbished redwood playhouse! You can see it behind Dorothy here. I'm curious if the decrease in nose effectiveness continues as the temps drop into freezing temps. Does this hold true at -15c or -30c? How does changing the humidity at the temps tests were run at affect the nose? Personal experience tells me that colds are most likely to happen spring/fall/winter chinooks (when the temp is up to that 4C used in the test).Yes you are correct - the study was done to see how virus' infected the lining of the nose at the entrance where most of the virus' are trapped and destroyed. Here is the News article:
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/scien...le-get-more-colds-and-flu-in-winter-1.6182625
And the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (if you like big fancy words)
https://www.jacionline.org/article/S0091-6749(22)01423-3/fulltext
So long and short - keep you nose covered in the cold weather to make sure that the cold dry air doesn't kill off all the cells lining the nose, which help protect against viral infections. I am gonna wear my mask forever now! AND it keeps my cheeks and lips warm also hahaha! Just need to find a fancy dancy one with sparkles and pictures of chickens and ponies!
