Is she a Welsummer? She looks like my Rosa who is a trickster too! Rosa used to have nice yellow legs like your girl, but they seem to have faded over the years.

Yes, she is a Welsummer (at least I believe so, she was the 'free extra chick'', but I am 99% sure that is what she is. She is a smart cookie!

Oh my gosh, they love the musical instruments! I might have to get a xylophone!
Yeah, nope! I got one for mine and they turned their beaks up at it. I am considering, now that it is quite cold again here, mixing a little scratch grain into some peanut butter and smearing it on the xylophone to get them pecking it again. (did that a couple of years ago when I first put it up and they weren't interested in it..worked...until the peanut butter was gone:gig:gig

Dear Aurora,

My name is Bernadette and I am a huge fan!
I know you must be very busy what with keeping all those chickens at FBA under control and dispensing your wisdom to the whole chicken world, but I do hope that you will find even a minute to answer the letter I wrote you previously:

Now I have an additional issue with Diana and I could really use your help.

I will confess that I am quite fond of Aunty Diana in spite of her disgusting habits, and she is so gentle and kind to me, but I am rising above such sentimentality!

I have been trying to learn from your example and have made good progress at winning the prime roosting spot by the wall Every night she objects and pecks me, but I ignore her and take the best spot anyway. VICTORY!!

Until last night when this happened ......

I had to settle for the second slot!
Honestly I cannot figure what went wrong. She just would not budge. Is it possible she has started taking your advice too?!
I was preparing for the next stage of my campaign, and now I am back to square one. I am a bit desponent about this set-back but I am sure your wisdom will help me achieve greatness.

Your comrade in arms,
Bernie

Oh that is interesting. I was given one and never got around to putting it up. I heard you need to paint a dot on each piece so they peck the dots. Feels like it is more entertainment for us than them!

I use bubble wrap on the windows of the mud room.
Best way is to have it inside and bubbles facing the glass.
If you spritz the window with water the bubble wrap will stick to the window on its own.
It actually works quite well as an insulator - worth a couple of degrees in my mud room. And it still lets in the light.
:lau :bow :lau Funny, I use bubble wrap on the outside of my chicken coop glass/window as extra insulation, too. Great minds think alike. Only, there, spritzing the glass won't keep it on, and if I put it on the inside, I'm sure the chickens would 'enjoy' popping all the bubbles!:gig

Hi everyone.

Surgery went well and I actually got to come home yesterday evening. I'm still a little groggy from the anesthesia but am ok relatively speaking. Tried to post last night but my keyboard was not working and I was not able to try to fix it. Finally figured out the problem, had a update pull through while I was gone and it messed up my keyboard and speakers. A simple restart fixed everything.
I'm so pleased you're on the mend. :hugs 💐

Flu 😢

Not as bad as when I had Covid but I feel like 💩 😢😢😢

And I just had a sip of apple juice and you would think it was battery acid on my sore throat !!! I am bound and determined to drink that juice tho! Might mix with water 🥺

I just got up to take some cough medicine. The good stuff your Dr prescribes.

Wanted to check my chickies but the network here sucks - everyone is online at this time of night. We r trying to get them to increase the bandwidth but it’s a battle. I might just get a new internet plan with a turbo hub with Bell and bring it out here.

Or maybe try to get hooked up with one of the guys here who has StarLink. I asked him if I could use a wireless bridge from his wellsite to mine. He said yes. I just need to see where his trailer is - then I will order a bridge if I have a line of sight.

Ok I am tired again have good night Alex give Jaffar a mealie worm from me 🥰
I am so sorry you are not feeling well. Try not to spread your disease far and wide. 😷
