I was at Walmart here and was surprised it wasn’t a mad house! Was it busy?

It looks like your chickies are enjoying the snow, I am going to see if my gang will go out later on - I see everyone else’s chickens out and about so I will see if mine will go out for change of scenery.
Last minute shoppers: why isn't there any bone in ham? I ordered an 8-14 pound ham?! I don't want umpteen packages of boneless sliced ham to make 8 pounds!

Well if you're gonna wait until Mary's water breaks to get Christmas dinner, you'll just have to deal with what's left.

You know, I was trying to be nice since Karma kicked me. That being said I feel you and @bgmathteach are poking fun at me over my rooster dilemma. You really will when I give out the final update on the new hatches boy/girl ratio now that some very late bloomers let themselves be known as boys....my ratio was not nearly as good as I thought at 4 weeks. So, I have one broody hen, I'm not afraid of Karma. Come the end of February or First of March Wee Miss Marty is going to come strutting along in the barn with 7 chicks in tow. You just wait.
Merry Christmas Rebeccab! Hope your weather is moderating.

7?! Wow that’s a huge clutch for such a wee little gal 🥰 she might have to have a co-broody in this case! Hmmmm who does she tolerate? Likely Fluffy hahahaha!

If she does this, she better wait till end of March first of April when it’s not -30 outside hahahaha - brrrr! Though I have to say it’s not too bad in the Hen House …. I will send the Roos to you 😊

(Can I ask about Mama hen 🥺)

So when my chicks were 4 weeks old I was very happy, thought that out of the 13 total chicks I only had 3 boys. Well, it is my flock and we all know my girls could never let me have a 50/50 ratio or one even better leaning towards girls. The chicks are older and I've been silently crying for about 2 weeks. Every single chimpmunk chick that seemed like a girl for so long, nope.....they are boys, all of them darn it. Final count, 5 girls and 8 boys. Still heavily screwed to the male average using new hens as well. I GIVE UP :he :th

Hahahahaha 🤭

But yep you are so correct! What do people think?! Do they think? Oi boy…… mum bought the turkey long ago as there are shortages here with getting turkey.

I told her just get a big chicken no one will know the difference!

Do they come in blue? I like blue. :gig
I can get you grey / black which will go nicely with your snazzy car!

Silkie eggs are smaller. If I had not let Rosie eat them when Chiquita went broody I would have put 5 or 6 under her and they would have fit nicely. Little Marty can handle more then you think. No no more Roos, I cannot handle any more little roos. Send them to Alex, Jaffar needs a buddy to teach the proper ways to be a man. Mr P also needs a son to stay so he can teach him how to be a proper roo. It is a balmy 18 and sunny this morning, almost made it to Wednesday when it is back in the 40s. Momma hen is doing very well. I stare at that hen every time I come to the kitchen window. Once I spotted the nest I cannot un-see it. She knows I'm looking at her, or glaring I should say. After a minute or two if she is holding her head up looking around she snuggles it right down and tries to hide. Evil, evil hen.
