I thought it was the other way round. I thought playsand had some kind of additive and it was construction sand that was needed.
My confusion on this is why I have never given them sand!

I'm with you on this and I haven't got more but I did get a small bag of white play sand way back when. It wasn't fine sand, seemed okay. It was useful when the dirt got wet and then dried, it broke up easily (we have a lot of clay in places).
