Having seen Fluff kill and eat a snake, and see Wee Marty and Curly scrapping I know just how bad those calm relaxed silkies can be 😊

Not to mention Marty beating the crap out of me when I messed with her man 😁

Edit:
Come to think of it, I have only really seen those silkies fighting ! The other hens don’t fight at all…
For the most part, the only hens at our place that fight are the broodies. If one is broody, she sets off the others that go broody, whether they happen to be broody at that moment or not.

Broodies are spunky ladies 🥰!

Just thinking that since silkies are known to be quite broody hens, maybe that's why they fight with each other. 🤔

The cold can be nasty for our feathered friends 🥺

Not sure if I can make any suggestions - other than the usual of telling them ‘stay out of the drafts!’ And stick you head under a wing!

Hate winter….
This winter has already been colder than normal, earlier than normal. The way the cold hit, I'm a bit surprised more aren't showing the effects. Next immediate project: set up space in the garage so if it drops like that again, can move them in there, especially if it's for more than a couple of days. Looks like the younger crew has mostly stayed outside today with visits from the older ones.

Whiskey found the banana and tidbitted. Responders: Pear, Nellie, and Storm, all older ladies. He's turning out to be a fantastic roo if the older ladies are listening to him!

Pony Sunday

And finally, it’s that time of the week dedicated to all the other fun animals out there. We have already seen the Peacocks… now for the rest of the critters!

Cows have slobbery noses, and if you ever get licked by one, it a snotty slobbery cow kiss 😁:

How did it taste 😊 I just grabbed the heart and liver of the turkey we have for supper - haha my BIL will be disappointed ha! Snooze ya lose! They should have come earlier!
I ate half a spoonful on half a biscuit to not hurt her feelings. I also scrambled a few eggs to go along with it. It tasted good, that is never the problem. The problem is now my stomach is protesting eating it. I'm also had to get away from just about all things fried which I love do not get me wrong. The air fryer has become my new best friend. Grandma hates the air fryer.

You know, I was trying to be nice since Karma kicked me. That being said I feel you and @bgmathteach are poking fun at me over my rooster dilemma. You really will when I give out the final update on the new hatches boy/girl ratio now that some very late bloomers let themselves be known as boys....my ratio was not nearly as good as I thought at 4 weeks. So, I have one broody hen, I'm not afraid of Karma. Come the end of February or First of March Wee Miss Marty is going to come strutting along in the barn with 7 chicks in tow. You just wait.
So, it wasn't intended to poke fun at you...it was more like a threatening that she could end up that way and to not get too overconfident.

I actually feel very bad for you that you have such a ratio of Roos to hens in your hatches. :hugs :hugs

You might think about getting a few new hens that are whatever breed you want, and try hatching from them. It is the hen that determines the sex of the chick. :(
