Yes the first 2 was my sweet Poppy. Branch is the final pic. I wanted to try to recreate it this year but cannot find the elf hat. I stole it from Rosie's elf on the shelf, well.......where did I put that thing last year. We also did not manage to get a tree up until 2 days ago. Did not have time for the big one or the space with grandma here. That and well....at times you could call me and mom both Scrooges or The Grinch.
I hope your grandma is a bit more settled today, my wish is for a peaceful quiet day for you, and you can glare at Mama Hen all you like 😊

Grandma is making gravy and biscuits. Begged her not too but nothing is stopping her. I'm going to make her mad in about 20 minutes. For the last few years I've gotten away from eating so much grease. It upsets my stomach. Grandma's gravy, it is swimming in it.

Took a bale of pine shavings out to the chooks for Christmas gift. They protested while I was adding to nest boxes and dumping it in a pile in the coop. While doing so, got a better look at Cheetah and Cuckoo. Came back with the vetricyn spray. Cheetah has a scratch bleeding on his wattles and Cuckoo's comb is bleeding and inflamed. Cuckoo is also sporting a naked strip from mid breast all the way down to her fluffy butt. Cheetah is sporting a naked ring around his neck from earlobe to earlobe.

Oh I love greasy stuff - but ya, agreed gives me heartburn ❤️

Do what I do, take some, make a big fuss over it and thank her for making it - distract her 🥰

The cold can be nasty for our feathered friends 🥺

Not sure if I can make any suggestions - other than the usual of telling them ‘stay out of the drafts!’ And stick you head under a wing!

Hate winter….

Rose was panting so hard last summer she was rattling - I was freaking out! I put the big box fan in the Hen House and turned it on full blast. It helped some, but it was tough on the chickens.
Depending on what days they are, we may bring them inside and stick a fan on them. We don’t have air-con.

I was looking at one of those portable AC units for the Hen House - it was so hot and humid last summer.

Will see what happens this summer - the one thing is that my Hen House room is built on the north west side of the barn and it heats up so much with the sun, and the sun in the summer doesn’t go down until near 10pm - so the sun shining on the cement block barn makes it extremely hot!

It’s nice in the winter (like today the sun shining in the window is lovely), too bad to sun goes down by 4:30 in the winter…

Today I tricked them all to come outside a bit with some scratch grain, but it was quite windy so they all ran back inside hahaha 😊
