Good morning lovely people I slept pretty good until 5 am. Watching Barmageddon on demand and waiting to go feed the chooks. This might be the day I let them mingle with the big girls and boys they are almost as big.

Oh Brother! Can you hear me?! talking about more babies and more hens - sheesh! You guys are terrible enablers hahahaha

For those wondering about Momma hen she is doing well. Coming off the nest every morning. If the cold did not affect the eggs we have less then a week away from chicks. Honestly it could be anytime. I do not know if when we realized what she was doing was 1. If it was, which I doubt truth be told, 21 days would have them hatching by Jan 10. I am starting to watch that hillside like a hawk. She has also always had her chicks hatch around 19 days anyway. I hope to catch her biggest tell before her chicks hatch. Every time I have known she was setting roughly 48 hours before they hatch she comes off the nest and stays off for over a hour stuffing herself and having multiple dust baths. If I can spot that I know chicks are coming soon.
