Yes I am too, especially considering what she was facing. And she was soooo happy to find another tribe!Queenie was lovely. I am so glad you took her in.
Thank you. Your and everyone’s support and advice was really welcome and helpful, really, the community took her in!It was one of those great events that occurred and was documented and jointly experienced here on this thread. It was one of the best things which has happened in our group and I remember the whole story fondly.

Fuzzzzzzzzzzzzz … so cuteI do not know why but something spurred me to go out and get some shots of my 3 boys. Before I post them I thought I would post the mugs of the newest members of my flock.

I'm afraid I still struggle with her death, it pangs me. But on balance I know she lived a good life here, and I try to have a forgiving compassion when the pangs come. It helps to do these look-backs. I am remembering many more good times these days!

The Buckeyes were not terribly dedicated to chasing Queenie, it was a part-time thing. Here they are all distracted by the coop roosting bars and floor having been removed for cleaning. You can make out Queenie standing behind the ladder.

Yep. A little antibacterial really helped.@featherhead007 It looks like the cyst thing is pretty flat now? Looks much better. Old blood caught in it could account for the dark color maybe?.
Yes, Darl was a Buff Orpington.Beautiful picture. Buff Orpington?
Well how is Eli's flight down? PrecariousProgress. Maybe.
Babs and Eli have now roosted in the same spot two nights in a row. It is in the rafters (of course) but inside the coop part of the Chicken Palace.
Although Eli is named for a stunt pilot, it is Babs who decides that is where they are going and it is also Babs who has perfected the flight down.
I am still a bit freaked by the fact that they are more than 10' up in the air, but hoping this is a good sign that they are accepting the Chicken Palace as home. As soon as I am sure that they know where home is, I will let everyone out to roam a bit.
