Me neither, the calls give me the willies but also are really great to hear so I’m of two minds. They got our elderly cat who, finally but barely recovered from a wound, got out accidentally. Very sad. But I do respect them as a part of nature and am a fan of them as a top predator in rural, suburban and even urban areas.
Your response made me look up coyote noises and I realize that some of the shouts I had attributed to the foxes may be coyotes. Most are definitely foxes but I think some might be coyotes.

I really want silkies this spring need eggs want to hatch them.
They are sooooo cute! They fly worth crap - crash land much better! So have some lower roosts - mine like to roost in the nest boxes and I am good with that. It took mine forever to learn to hop/flap up onto things - they need to have their head/face feathers trimmed so they can see haha :)

They don't handle the cold very well - I have a couple radiant heaters for them to warm up (a cozy coop panel and I bought a Sweeter Heater at Christmas).

They can be bossy, and they are extremely broody! If you can buy a hen you can get her to raise the chicks if you set her with eggs ❤️ 💕

Oh - and you can't tell if they are hens or roos until they crow or lay an egg hahaha!

Gosh, we are all on the roofing projects lately, aren’t we? 😂 I hope everyone stays dry and safe. I for one am not going up on my plywood until it’s dry… you can always stick buckets under a leak, but a huge slip and slide with a big drop is a hard pass

WISE WORDS!

Here are my bobcat pics for more “data input”. The ones I have seen here are a little “leaner” than the ones @bgmathteach posted. This one came by my deer stand a few years ago, posed for me and then trotted off (not a run, just a slow trot).

Babs solves quadratic equations

This is especially for @bgmathteach who loves to see the calculations involved in filing a flight plan. This is from bed time last night.

Wow that was awesome! She can really fly!

You kidding, the coop has a really good roof! It’s better in there than my house!
I will be carpenter/roofer after the first sign of sunshine and dry weather conditions.
How are you today? I see that more rain warnings are out for northern sections of California. Sure hope you are in an area that is ok, I will check in later on if I get a chance.
Happy was not 100% thrilled with me giving her breakfast this morning. She finally settled down to eat but did not eat as much as she does for my brother. I spent a hour with her and put her up and left her alone until the vet left. After that I went back in and got her back out and she settled down to eat some of her pellets. The little demon bit me twice. Once on the ear and once on my knuckle. When she is mad she knows where the tender spots are. She drew blood on the knuckle. This is only the 2nd time since she has been home that she has ever bit hard enough to draw blood. I think now that Carla is back in class and she has some early morning ones this time around I am going to have to insist on feeding her breakfast a few times a week even if one or both are still here.
