4 silkies: 1 is frizzle, so separate breed, doesn't count. 1 is satin, same thing, 1 is white, 1 is black, all count for zero. The other girls....ummmm.... @Ponypoor you're going to have to figure out. But just the silkie math alone is room for 6 chicks (if they're the same breeds you already have) just to get back to 12 hens.
Foundational Math: “One Chicken” Counts as “One Chicken” … with a few exceptions.
Proof #3: Bantams and Silkies Count as ½ Chicken
(ok so 2...)

Proof #5: Gifted and Rescued Chickens Do Not Count
(Thus Queen Penelope, Blanche, Sophia, Buttercup, Misty and Whiskers do not count)

Proof #8: Replacements for Predated Chickens Only Count as ½ Chicken
(Poor Stanley and Roxanne lost to a Fox - thus require 4 to replace)

Proof #10: When Buying Chicks, Each Chick Counts as 2/3
(thus 6 chicks is = to 4 chickens: 2/3*6=4
...If I require 6 Hens then I will need, in reality, 9 chicks)

Finally:
"Therefore, when a chicken is named it becomes part of the family and not part of the flock. Since it is not part of the flock, it is only logical that this chicken no longer adds to your flock counts."

And in reality then I really only have 1 chicken. And since I wish to receive 4 dozen eggs a week I would need 8 hens that lay at least 6 eggs/week each; BUT for winter egg laying I will require 3 times that count to ensure my 4 dozen eggs / week.... I am going to require a larger barn, and a wealthy husband!

By those standards, you have zero chickens... that count to flock total....and I have 8....I think....
Have 1 chicken by this math.

Unless a Frizzle is another breed......🤔

Aurora would say we have 0 chickens here. 😉

And then the name corollary kicks in and I actually have 0.

So based upon this I want to know how many chickens everyone has.
Fluffy= 0.5
Curly= 0.5
Henny= 0.5
Marty= 0 (rescued/gifted/free)
Misty= 0 (gift)
Whiskers= 0 (gift)
Buttercup= 0 (gift)
Rose= 0 (first hen of each breed / first laying hen of each colour doesn't count)
Dorothy= 0 (first hen of each breed / first laying hen of each colour doesn't count)
Queen Penelope= 0 (Gift)
Lady in Waiting Blanche= 0 (gift)
Lady in Waiting Sophia= 0 (gift)
Mr P(erfect)= 0 (rescued/gifted/free)

Therefore: 1.5, round up to 2

This is what it looks like when Babs flies down from the rafters and finds Bernadette parked on the runway.
One of the many reasons I don’t like having the Math Majors roosting in the rafters is that they rely on the people door being open to give them a landing runway, and I like to close the people door when it gets really cold.
They can do a much shorter flight down to the roost which looks like a safer option to me, but they seem to prefer the drama of the long runway flight.
Sorry about the dark grainy video - it is from the coop cam. I think all the dust at the beginning must be from Eli’s landing that the camera missed.

That was awesome! Wow she can really flap/fly/soar!

Can't have zero ! has to be 1... :)

I forgot the name/family member proof - so I have 1 also :)
