Someone was Having a Bad Day

Lilly was whining constantly yesterday. While it was going on in the morning I thought she might be going to lay an egg. But it never stopped. The following went on all day.

I don't know who peed in her cornflakes but it was really annoying by day end.

On the plus side, it seems like she is over it. No whining today. Go figure.
Excuse the er... crudeness... but it looked like Lily had some ...um... "anus action" going on there. Have you seen her poop today, or lay an egg?

Big (small) changes coming to the Chicken Palace
I hesitate to post this here because I do not want to detract from the count down to Sydney's hatch - honestly I am possibly more anxious about it than even @BY Bob himself!
But I have to post here because, people, this is all your fault.
You are enablers!
You could have said how lovely it is that the Princesses have so much space in the Chicken Palace. You could have said that three is plenty for a flock. You could have said that baby chicks are a real handful and I should avoid them at all costs.
But no, instead you said things like 'looks like you have plenty of room for more' and '3 isn't a real flock'.
And because of that I have ended up with these insanely adorable, cute little fluffy butts.
I am terrified (what if I can't keep them alive and healthy?). But I am already besotted. So thank you all for your enabling.
I will try to get better pictures but honestly they have little jet-skis attached to them and they take off in all directions at great speed and are very hard to corner until they go in under their hot cave which is where most of these pictures are from.

But seriously, they are adorable. Congratulations RC, I'm sure they will be fine.

Besides you have all of us vicariously enjoying your new babies and giving you advice!

Trump really resembles that ...other one. Poor thing 😐

Especially in the second to last photo when she's shouting 😜

Is there a crying forum on BYC that anybody knows of? I don't want to bumm out this thread with my chicken problems. Just asking.
Hesitantly I tell you BOB, my Rhode Island Red 3.5 yrs old, had sour crop this AM. I tried to help drain the mass of stinky fluid. I carefully massaged her crop, tilted her body down, and she let out a lot (3/4 cup) but stopped breathing. choking, and died right in my arms. I buried her this morning, before church. Jaffar is weak, but he ran with the ladies half a day. But He's weak still, and when it turned very windy here, I took him inside. He's here with me right now.
And Rocket, didn't return to eat or drink today with the rest of the flock. That's my sad story!
I'm so sorry Featherhead. You are having a really rough time of it at the moment :hugs :hugs :hugs

Is Jaffar maggot free yet and on the mend? Hopefully Rocket is in her safe hiding place again. :fl

No egg and she has been pooping fine. She is getting a bath as she has some build up again. Aurora as well. I am going to have clean bums on my girls.

I was surprised at only 2 myself but that leaves room for more batches of babies in the future.

Oh no! And I am so sorry about Rocket. She seems to be a smart little hen though & returned safe 7 sound last time. Hopefully she'll do a repeat performance. :hugs

I’ve just posted on the ER threads but wanted to ask here; has anyone noticed their heavy moulters do weird poos? I found one today and I’m not sure if it is Charlie, but it’s green and looks like tiny sausages in amongst wee. Bed poos from last night all look normal but I’m staying vigilant. I put Piperazine in the water a few days ago but that only treats roundworm. Now would be a good time to give them Avitrol Plus as there is a withholding period and nobody is laying right now.
I saw that from Aurora right before I wormed them this last time. Unfortunately I could not test them so I'm not sure what it was but worming seems to have worked. I haven't seen another.
