I will not promise them, but, I will say right now she is fiercely guarding a non-fertile store egg as of 2 hours ago to keep her in the mood. The rest, depends on Rural King. If Rural king comes through the final hurdle will be will she adopt what may come her way.

I'm sorely tempted if Rural King does not have what I need to implement a plan B. Chiquita has not lost weight or condition while she has been broody. I will go ahead and say we are after leghorn chicks....white or brown. If they do not have them, I may contact my friend up the road for 2 silke eggs and let her hatch them out.

All dressed up to the nines and what does she do? Hang out in the pasture run where it is snowing heavily.

I locked mine in the complex today. No one is allowed out to play on the snow. Mostly because they don't like snow but really because I don't want wet hens when the temp drops tonight.

In Memorium

Today is a very sad anniversary here at FBA. While all of our chickens have their place in my heart a select few have really been exceedingly dear to me. Today is the anniversary of us losing one of those very special chickens. 2 years ago today a suspected weasel killed my sweet sweet Maleficent.

So here, in remembrance. are a LOT of photos of my lost friend. Rest in peace my darling. You are dearly missed.

Beautiful memorial, it really honors her.

I am glad for the memories that you still share every now and then. Because I was (am) so new to chicken keeping when I joined BYC and started reading your thread, your stories have more meaning and context with the other ladies for me now. I still haven't read through that Fall/Winter part of the thread because it's so painful though.

This picture - she really has the look of a raven. Very handsome!

Latest news: pastor of the second church I attend, said that I can bring my rooster anytime I want to. (I have the portable pet carrier cleaned out and ready) so Sunday, let’s see if he can put the money where his mouth is! Jaffar likes music too, and bawks both English and Spanish!

That’s not a joke either. I have to hold people accountable sometimes!

I just realized it is Wednesday and nothing from the Queen as of yet. I hope us having to make her come on and reply or in my case scold me about Phyllis being a chicken the other day has not caused her to skip a day.

Aurora is quite busy today with everyone locked into the complex. There is a lot of order to keep. I do not know if she will get to posting today at this point.
