Careful! sounds like she just might 'steal' him away from you!!!One of these days I am going to get my mother to admit she likes Branch. Yesterday evening while taking a break from cleaning stalls she picked him up as he was walking by. She sat him in her lap and he went to purring and making his happy noises. She then looks at me and goes "What, I can admit he is the perfect little black rooster." Granted that was immediately followed by "He just does not know how to shut up." Let us forget the last part, she called him a perfect little black rooster and she willingly held him.

The liquid calcium i have is for reptiles, but i give it to the chickens too. It isn't very clear on how much calcium it is but i figure a lizard dose should be safe for a chicken.I didn't know there was such a thing! How does the dosing work? I'll have to research it. I have two water sources, a nipple waterer and a heated bowl.
Today we got the first intact egg of the year! Could be Peanut's, she was doing a bit of wailing around noon today, and wandering toward the porch and coop. It is the long-ish shape she's laid before.

You need to bring her in more so she gets used to it or not bring her in at all.The entire time Parmesan was in here, she acted like she was fossilized. Didn't move a muscle other than if I wanted to pet her she would brace herself, thinking I was going to hit her.
Those are great! Two very short videos that made me giggle today.
First is Babs walking in the early dawn followed by her bodyguard, Eli. There is something about how Eli looks from side to side that made me think she was looking out for snipers or other security threats (maybe Bernie). I am glad to see Babs is so well protected!
And here is Bernie expressing her disgust at me putting a camera up in the blind spot.
I must say my chickens really do make me laugh!
