What’s up with Jaffar this morning. Crowing in the house. Stomping around and acting like a bully. He’s outside now just crowing about everything. I fed him breakfast, Bobo too. And then fed all the rest.

Yes - I hope the panel heater will be enough for Bernie on her own. I am also hoping that the Math Majors are not in a drafty place up there. I assume they would choose to go somewhere else if it was drafty.
The main ventilation in the winter (when I close the windows) is from soffit up to roof ridge vent and of course they are right up by the roof ridge. Silly chickens!

I am sure they will be fine. They are pretty smart to move if they are no comfortable I have found. And of course look at Momma Hen - sitting on eggs and hatching them out in all that cold weather! Chickens are tougher then we give them credit for.

Also, both Babs and Eli (but not Bernadette) have started tasting the crushed egg shells. Maybe they are gearing up to start laying.

I will not lie I was worried. She is not a first time mom but I do not know if her previous owner had her adopt babies before. I was going into this blind. Thankfully those silkie broody vibes are getting the best of her.

So how did everything go? I am all worried here having not heard from you yet...
