Well mine are actually not that much smaller than my other chickies, but I wouldn’t put more than 3or4 eggs or chicks under them. Chiquita is doing awesome with 6!

You cannot stop them as it is "The Way of the Chicken" to scratch for food. They will do it even when eating from a feeder. Although some chickens do scratch more than others. Orpingtons are not really into scratching while leghorns love to dig.Does anyone know how to stop the chooks from digging up the yard? What a disaster area they made of the grass.
