If it helps at all, I cant get many pictures lately because my rooster does not like me at all. Sits down to grump next to you.

Because of Parmesan beginning to lay her eggs, she began being broody and not to offend my chickens but Parm looks ugly when she gets broody.

Good Evening All!

So - I have refrained the whole day from commenting! Harder than you think, between babies and horses (thanks Rebecca haha!); beautiful chickies (thanks Valarie, Avggrl, Lillion, RC, RM.... etc); and really Alex ? posting BR Tabbies?? and Jaffar? hahaha very hard not to respond! BUT - I bookmarked each and everyone of you that I wanted to reply to so here goes!

But, somebody had to have a Stallion - otherwise you would eventually be out of raiding horses!

At least that was what I got from 'the birds and the bees' talk.

Yes there are stallions, but generally speaking tribes on the move wouldn't keep a stud horse, but they knew who kept he best and most beautiful stallions

Well I personally think someone should have to pay tax every time they post a feather duster and claiming it is a silkie. You know who you are.

I've realized I butted on to this thread without so much as a by-your-leave or an introduction. Rude of me. Thought I'd introduce my tiny flock of mutt-chickens.

Oh your chickies are so pretty! and your boy is real Eye Candy for sure - Oh and Welcome!!! You just fit right in so well I forgot you're new!

Its the biggest Ive seen on a rooster. It is glorious. So are his wattles.

Oh those wattles - soooo lovely I just love them - you know I love wattles!

Houston, we may have a problem.

I told you all I noticed Goose had started plucking out her feathers on her chest. If she does not lay in the porch box today this will make 3 days without a egg from her. It seems I once again need to go on a find the Easter egg hunt and try and track down her nest. I'm secretly hoping she has just taken a 2 day break in-between eggs. Her brood patch though is halfway clean now so I seriously doubt it. I think the brat is trying to become my first official broody girl of the year. If she is thinking about going broody I have to track down that nest. She has not even been laying a month yet and while I would love Goose chicks eventually her eggs are still small.

OK - well I know you found her nest and that she has an enabler; so I guess it will be a waiting game to see if you want her to sit on eggs - I will be following this for sure!

What a lovely flock. Very pretty but also so calm and well behaved. No pecking, no yelling! I feel they may need to do instructional videos for some of our other flocks!

I noticed no drama and all well mannered, not like all my naughty gals! And all wanting to lay their eggs in that one nest box! And we won't even go into bed time drama!!

A lovely nice Barred Rock Tabby Chicken

Love these photos but it's weird to me that Parmesan and Mozzarella turn 3 in March and they are so tiny. They have, however, grown tails and look how long it is.

I can't help myself - I have to ask - does the chick grow up green? of do it's adult feathers come in the regular colour ?! (sorry!)
