I am sure none of you are surprised at how happy this makes me. They are definitely integrated (except at night). Somehow Eli’s green doesn’t come through well in photos - she is all shiny green and purple and I love it.
And look at the crop on Bernie. I hope she is OK. I think she is - just stuffing her face with little worms and grass.

They are all looking wonderful; Bernie looks glorious, like the older sister. I am sure her crop is ok - just check it tomorrow morning to be sure

Eli is the black one. Bernie is the big one with the gold chest and hackles and Babs is the one in the middle who is sort of black and blue and brown.

I'm hoping to see some most excellent fluff from @BY Bob before today is over. Let's hope he doesn't have to work past 8pm again!

Must be coming to the end of the first quarter soon, he is likely really busy I am not so busy here, so I am pacing myself to not run out of work and be bored...

Yes. The dark ones are Bernie’s. She laid 5 in 9 days. She seems to be experimenting with the color a bit. A couple are light tan. I am not sure if there is a color trend because I wasn’t here. Will observe over the coming week.

Now am I correct in remembering you telling me she was a Barnevelder? They lay those dark brown eggs

Haha, at my house, there is!! I will try and show you to the best of my ability, me grabbing the snake. luckily, I have snake grabbers!!

Ah, okay! I saw your post on the egg thread just after I posted that... In school we are writing an argumentative essay thing, or somthing like that. I am looking forward to getting the snake out, if my father let's me

Dakota is acting strange. I went out to the coop and she was squawking as if complaining. I took her inside, but she wanted something (I don’t know what) she’s pacing around in the house and squawking. I’m letting her just sit quietly if she will. Maybe she is just being a spoiled brat

Looking for a nest to go and sit in, lay and egg and think about being broody! Henny does that... and Marty.

Awe, thank you! I will probably do that! I am currently writing a story about a fictional horse... it's slightly violent, because that is just the way my brain works... The chicks are so cute!!

Ah! Gotcha! Yep my dad would likely have a hissy fit if I were running around catching snakes... or whatever other trouble I was able to get into as a youth!
