I do believe his name is “Pretty Boy” or that’s the best I’ve come up with. He is one of the few survivors of Grey Mama’s October Hidden in the truss-pile babies. He is sort of low on the Rooster Order, mostly because he tends to do his own thing, when he can lure some ladies away from the main flock, and I haven’t interacted much with him, he and his sister both have that independent streak they got from their mom. I think their Sire was Castiel right before the Raccoon got him (the timing would be right)Who's that handsome black breasted silver roo struggling so desperately to get the girls?
I missed it, so thanks for the repost! Nice tongs! Are they yours or did you call in a hand? And I can’t tell from the photos and can’t recall where you are, what sort of snake was it?I just saw thatI guess I had not looked at enough pages, and so I had not seen it... well, too late now! I just saw the first post of him...
It’s not silly if it works, so, did it work??? Poor hens, fool me once… Sammy once tried using a poopy towel I had in a brooder tote, he was actually surprisingly successful with itI don't know, but I had a stupid idiot Roo today!!! Tidbitting with a piece of snow ice!
And, yes, that is what he was calling the girls over for - I watched him pick it up and drop it half a dozen times!! - I had all I could do to contain myself & not burst out laughing!!Silly boys!!
I heard a yellow rat snake, or something similarI missed it, so thanks for the repost! Nice tongs! Are they yours or did you call in a hand? And I can’t tell from the photos and can’t recall where you are, what sort of snake was it?
We have many cowbirds. Infact, when visiting the cows, there must have been over 50 of them. About 8 roosting on each cow and the others practically under their feet and eating all the food. They have no fear!To be fair, I have always heard of these birds referred to as cowbirds around here. Plus as it was pointed out I had help naming her.
I have a feeling this would be a very bad idea. From what I have read in many other threads on BYC, the size of a chick is determined by breeding, not egg size. This is why people also don’t incubate pullet eggs, they wait until the eggs are full size. Otherwise the chick runs out of room to develop and doesn’t survive.I’m very curious, has anyone here tried incubating fairy eggs?
I know they are uncommon to get, and its even rarer to end up with one with a yolk. But i heard one story of it getting veining. Has anyone had experience with this? Just out of curiosity.
Yeah, i figured that would happen, i was just curious if it would be possible.I have a feeling this would be a very bad idea.
