Happy Mugshot Monday everyone!
This week’s mugshots are brought to you by Eli who is turning into a real ham!

She wants to know which is her best side.

Oh I love her to bits haha she reminds me of Misty with her comical looks :)
Edit: OH how I love those whiskers and beard on her - they are splendid almost better than Auroras (maybe they are don't tell her haha).

Here is my Monday Mug of Dorothy - maybe it's Eli's cousin

And all grown up being broody

It's interesting to see the difference in her comb colour as she matured!

The lighter one in front is a roo, he likes to stand on the top of the milk crate and try to crow but it comes out as a scream lol.

Awwww - they are at that adorably 'cute' stage where they look like little crazy chickens - so adorable! Just love them, they are so funny at that stage!

Babs also posed for a mugshot. She has eaten so much her feathers no longer quite cover her crop. I hope she isn’t plucking them. I am not ready to learn how to handle a broody hen!

Another beauty - love that feather pattern.
Well if she is broody then your job with getting those Ameraucana will be very simple! She can raise them for you. She should be able to handle 4.... Henny hatched 4 and she is a tiny wee thing - your lovely lady will do just fine - she knows what to do 💕 💕 💕

Have you sourced any chicks yet?

Not all broody hens are to be feared. Yes, all will probably scream and shriek at you. Some will try to peck you to some extent if you try to reach under them. It is the special ones who take it to a whole other level. Those Momma Hens. The ones who shriek, peck, grab and twist the skin. The ones who if you remove them from the nest to relieve themselves take offense and try to flog you to get back on the nest. I equate the Momma hen level to game hens and bantams. I do not foresee any of your girls being a crazy momma hen. I could be wrong, but hope I am not.

I may be a bit out of place (slightly prejudiced!), but she is looking lovely! 🥰 Yes, those DC girls know how to pack it away.

No worries - yes, an extremely full crop does that....AND if she was plucking her breast feathers out, you would know when you collected the eggs. The nest would be littered with 1/2 doz. or more of her delicate breast feathers! That said, what isn't to love about::jumpy:jumpy:jumpy ?

If she or Eli does go broody, you have a ready made Momma for any chicks you get :)
