Ok I am totally gullible, always have been. But it is true, folks with autodoors have been wanting a wifi remote-controlled door, in the way Arlo & Ring cameras have remote access, so one could turn them on, operate them, maybe speak through them, etc. It would be great when somebody doesn't make it into the coop in time some evening to be able to open and close the door for them remotely.

So I got a promotional email from Omlet about a new product called "RadioEgg Autodoor Kit" and it came with a video you can see in the email. When you click for more info you get the page below. Guess the date of the email? :lau
The video is still pretty good though! It's there on the page -

Poor Wendy is not doing well. She has been laying shell-less eggs. Calcium citrate pills don't seem to help. In the past, she always lays jumbo thin shelled eggs, but the last month she only laid maybe 2 solid eggs. :-(

She is only two years old. Today she is even lethargic.

Yes I have been thinking that I will put electric along the outside of the door if I have to go back out west to work.

Not sure what to do with the outside run, dare I let mum let them out? I will see if I can get it covered with the mesh this week, and finish it up.

If I do have to go out west she can then let them out for a couple hrs around lunch time. Dusk and dawn are the hunting hrs around here for predators.

This week will be busy for me I want to finish the hen house ( that last bit or lining on the wall), finish the “Rooster Run” so they can go outside with out me worrying.

And, I need to finish the brooder area, I want to put chicken wire on all the open areas so nothing can crawl up into the stall/brooder and make the doors safe.

@RebeccaBoyd
My friends daughter wants to send down one of her Roos to cover my silkies, I guess about three weeks will be needed to ensure Mr P’s semen will be out of their system. Road trip to Kentucky anyone?? 😊
Busy! But yeah I agree with @bgmathteach that you want the brooder area with hardware cloth. Even the rats will snack on the poor little ones, much less a weasel which will try it's darndest to find a way in.

I hope she is okay. Unfortunately, that is not uncommon in the high production breeds. All I can say is give her extra calcium as you have been doing, and watch her closely. I don't know if hormone treatment is an option for you - if it is, now is the time to give it, as spring is a natural 'push them out as fast as you can' time, especially for those breeds. Also, if you recall, there was an article posted about a week ago that mentioned the effectiveness of using female birth control pills - it significantly slows them down. I don't remember for sure the combo that worked - I think it was the estrogen/progastrin combo, but I would have to try to find the article/research study link again to be sure. I had linked it for RC, so if you are good at searching this site/thread, I posted, linked the article & mentioned RC. Sometime within the last 2-3 weeks, as I found it and immediately thought of RC's Eli.

I just love that second picture of Foxy! Maybe submit it for POW?

I certainly thin that is wall worthy! Makes me think of a puppy dog resting his head on your arm...such a sweet and loving picture of her!!!
Thank you!! I will submit my first picture to POW.

Foxy is a very loving creature, more so than others. My husband thinks that Foxy regards him as her mama since that was the first thing she saw upon hatching. When she was a baby, she loved getting underneath his hair. And she keeps doing this to my husband every day.

Foxy loves to hug her "mama"

My husband says that he's never felt so loved. ❤️

He also says that Light will always be his favorite though. Poor Foxy.
