Hey how’s the art going? Haven’t seen any recently.
I haven't finished my latest portrait as I've been teaching a course for the last three months and it's consumed all my free time. This is the last week and I'm really looking forward to a break! However, I did write a short film score over the weekend, so I guess that counts as art! :D Here's the link if you'd like to have a look:

How are all your ladies and Mr P going?

Hen-Rietta has been sitting on one of her eggs for several hours now. I’m hoping she gets broody and has a chick or two.
:fl A Cochin and Brown Leghorn cross would be a magnificent combo
False alarm. She was in the box laying another egg next to the one she laid this morning. Three days in a row, two eggs a day! :idunno
The other is a golf ball (hasn’t hatched yet) :gig 9794D88C-8D11-4A46-BD35-62C7FC79D827.jpeg

That was great 🥰 still waiting for Spring here haha! Loved it!

Mr P is doing great, all the ladies are good, I have some eggs in an incubator - my friends daughter is hatching out a bunch of the Silkies eggs I gave her, and a few eggs for me - I have 2 each of Marty, Blanche and Sophia hopefully I can get a few pullets!

My very old (7yrs old) hen Penelope laid an egg yesterday and I am going to take it over to their place tomorrow as they have another lot of eggs going in the other incubator, I am hoping for another pullet to replace her, I have one daughter from her (Dorothy), but would like another 😊

How are all your kiddos?

Well hopefully someone will go broody and you can hatch one of her eggs!

Sunday Update

Still no signs of infection among Hattie, Glynda, and the Polish. Hattie used the roost tonight.

In the main coop things remain the same except Lady Featherington's wheezing has changed. I can't quite describe how but it's different. We will bring her in tomorrow and give her a once over. No progression in symptoms in anyone else. If anything the sneezing seems to be less, but that could be wishful thinking on my part.

Thanks! :) Glad to hear all your chookas are doing well.

My four are still going, including my two boys! No-one has complained yet! I'm hoping that the fact they sleep in the laundry to muffle the 5.30am crowing is enough.

There was also a grooming party in front of the mirror today.

Ok I am totally gullible, always have been. But it is true, folks with autodoors have been wanting a wifi remote-controlled door, in the way Arlo & Ring cameras have remote access, so one could turn them on, operate them, maybe speak through them, etc. It would be great when somebody doesn't make it into the coop in time some evening to be able to open and close the door for them remotely.

So I got a promotional email from Omlet about a new product called "RadioEgg Autodoor Kit" and it came with a video you can see in the email. When you click for more info you get the page below. Guess the date of the email? :lau
The video is still pretty good though! It's there on the page -

That is so funny! Thanks for sharing.

Poor Wendy is not doing well. She has been laying shell-less eggs. Calcium citrate pills don't seem to help. In the past, she always lays jumbo thin shelled eggs, but the last month she only laid maybe 2 solid eggs. :-(

She is only two years old. Today she is even lethargic.
Gosh those are beautiful chickens in wonderful settings. I was going to "love" this post until the new about Wendy. I'm so sorry. :hugs :hugs :hugs
