Oh well.

The news here is that Henny Penny is back in her bottom nest box sitting, Curly and Fluffy are sitting together in their bottom nest box, and Marty is back in her nest box.

I also have Buttercup sitting in the nest box above Marty growling like something from The Exorcist - but I am doubting she is really broody as she has been doing this for the past week, then she lays her egg and leaves.

Ravens have been circling about, looking for a good nest site. The boys (all of them) have been sounding the alarm about them. They sounded off and the girls headed for the trees when the turkey vulture swept in low (I was out with them). I went in search of the direction the vulture was headed. The ravens were on it and I caught glimpses of the dogfight. The vulture wanted NONE of it. I think the ravens are settling into the trees the red-tailed hawks like to use (good, the hawks will have to go elsewhere).

Ravens are easy better to have around than hawks. It would be great if they chose to live with you.
