How old do they need to be? They turn 4 in November. If she continues to avoid egg eating Flurry will get her chance as well if she chooses to go broody. She will soon enough. She spent over half of last summer broody but eating every egg she came across. Like Gryffyn when the time comes she will be given 4 egg the first time around. If Gryffyn does well with these chicks next time around that big fluffy booty is getting at least 12. Honestly, she is big enough I could easily stuff about 16 under her and she would have no problem covering them all. Flurry while smaller could handle a dozen herself.
Oh boy, I though they were under 2!

My gang gets soaked ration every morning, I pour hot water over their layer ration and let it soak while I feed the horses.

They love it and gobble it up, it’s also handy because I put the small dusty bits in and make the mash, that way I am not wasting it throwing it out.

It’s hilarious in the morning, I let them out and they all pile around me fighting over the big bowl that I scoop it out from, into smaller bowls.
My chooks also gets soaked rions although the new 3 younger ones dont like it.

Ooo I used to be very good with Maths. And you use math in every aspect of one’s life, for instance measuring to build things 😊

I would be an Engineer if I went back to school now ❤️ Or maybe an architect 🥰

Just think of the awesome coops I would build if I were an architect 😁 multi storied, play structures for the chooks, broody home, chicken hospital. Yep I would be broke!
And if you were a certified architect, the fees to become one are probably outrageous. So you'd be broke without building anything.

But if she became a world renowned chicken coop architect she could take commissions so every fancy home owner would be lining up for her services.

It’s getting difficult for me to feed the chooks out in the yard, because the stray cats come charging in, trying to steal the treats out from the birds beaks. It is funny to see a cat get pecked on the head by a chook! There are too many cats on property now and I don’t know how to handle the situation. I have already called everywhere in town. No help at all :th

Put coffee grounds. Then again, your chooks might not like it. But chooks eat some pretty gross stuff, so you never know.
