Well she has slept in a nest box three nights in a row, and is in one every time I go out there. But she will jump out in a hurry if I have treats, and so think is leaving it more than once a day. So I would say half-broody/inexperienced. In my case it is a bad thing. No rooster/fertile eggs and no plans to get new chicks this year. Am going to see if she snaps out of it after about a week. If not will have to break her. Would have tried putting her on roost after dark last night but it was windy/rainy and didn’t feel like bundling up and putting trash bag over my boot that late.

@notabitail Yep, we are very demanding/needy when it comes to chick pics. 😂

Kitty kicked Strider in the mouth and knocked out a front tooth when he was about two months old. Had to wean him early. Worst part was his baby teeth “slid” together to fill the gap. So when his permanent teeth started coming in they didn’t line up right. Ended up having to pull some of them to let the others come in straight.

How many employees does his company have? If there are enough that FMLA applies he should have requested FMLA leave. It might still be early enough to do it. And either way his doctor should be able to
provide a note with restrictions keeping him out for awhile.

I gave up trying to break mine, I just haul them off the nest twice a day so they eat and poop, eventually they give up.

But now I have Curly and Fluffy co broody, and I have some chicks to shove under them this week.

Oh poor Strider! Horses can be such idiots, I am so cautious now with them, and now with the chickens I am absolutely paranoid! I do not let the chooks out with the horses alone. I monitor them and if the horses start to get stupid I bring the chooks in.

Happy Mugs Monday.
Gryffyn has a secret under her that she is not ready to let the world see.

Proud Papa who has also discovered Goose has chicks hatching. He is torn in 3 different directions right now. He has the Marshmallows who stick with him. He also is now running back and forth between Gryffyn and Goose's nest trying to catch a peek at the new chicks.

Goose, she has 3 of her 4 out. The 4th egg has externally pipped.

It's not easy being a responsible rooster. It's really nice to hear the Marshmallows still like him.
