Oh I am so sad to hear this light, it sounds like there was little that could be done. It also sounds like she did have a good life. Now she is free forever đź’–

I am so sorry to hear she passed, @lightm . :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs
Ascities - there isn't much you can really do for that. You can give them temporary relief by draining their abdominal fluid, but it will just come back....and it is usually a sign of other things going wrong. I'm sure she knew you loved her, and she will probably enjoy her freedom now that she is free of her land-bound body.🕊️

Rest in peace Ginger. May your mealworms never run out. May your grass always be green and tasty. :hugs :hugs

If it helps, there is really no coming back from ascites. It's just a matter of time. :hugs :hugs

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful girl.

Thank you all! :hugs

If you look at this picture, Foxy's head has a bald area. I believe this is due to other hens grabbing the head feather when mounting on her.

@RoyalChick 's Babs has exactly the same thing going on due to Bernie's dominance behavior.

I believe it is nothing serious at the moment.

What about the 3rd coop, the quarantine one?
It's another way to go. I'm just not thrilled with teaching anyone to live there as I really do plan to take it down at some point. I would need to rehome them to the Cluckle Hut as there is no automatic door there. Lots to think about with no urgency. 🤔
