I am going to make a door either on the end or side so it will be easier to get them back inside. The top is great but I'll use longer roofing and an extra piece for a little overhang on all sides. I do love being able to quickly move it when the weather changes suddenly or they need a fresh patch of grass. I'll also permanently attach the corner blocks on the handle end. Goldie's coop will be nicer but I am pleased with this one for the guinea fowl.
You did great work! 👍

I have been pondering the bald patch issue. I looked in the yarn bag to see if anything would go with Babs’ coloring. I thought I could use Velcro as the quick release mechanism.

Then I got to thinking about all your advice and instead of making the bonnet I got one of these.

And then because it is Tuesday I also got these.

Yup I did it. I went on a road trip and came back with five chicks. They hatched while I was overseas last week and have been waiting for me. They are 8 days old.
We only just got home and already I am smitten.
Babies they are all adorable and they look so healthy and fluffy ❤️ I can’t wait to hear what breeds you chose when you feel up to it.

I am sorry your still feeling bad, hopefully the tiny chicks will help you through the end of this bug.

Sorry, evidently too much to read through to get it all:

" Eventually, I want to put up gutters and use rain barrels...but with the eaves 30+ feet up, and other things on the list ahead of that...well, you get the picture."

So, no gutters on it at the moment. I do have a strategically placed rain barrel at the confluence of the two roofs, but it was no match for the deluge.
Not an unusual problem. Just today I was trying to imagine a gutter system on our garage/barn that would be at "man height" and more manageable, and feed some potential garden boxes next to the garage. Something sticking out over the garage doors, feed across and down at one corner of the barn. But be easy to take down for winter.

PS I am on a lot today because I sprained my ankle yesterday and can't do much outside or anywhere, all that stuff that has been keeping me too busy to be on....

Oh no! Ankle injuries really put you right out of commission:( I hope it heals quickly.

Ohh I cannot wait to find out what they are. First though you need to get better and rest. You now have 5 littles that need you.

Sorry. My bad not paying attention.
