I was thinking that.

If I house the co-broodies and her in the summer house, and put them in there also they can all grow up together.

Didn't you also have some Brahma and Bielefelder chicks as well or did I miss something?

That’s Bobo. She’s kinda his main squeeze, so to speak.

He does that, all day long.

I am beginning to see that polish, Cochin and silkies are the best Roos, they seem to be quieter than other Roos - my neighbours Roo just doesn't shut the heck up all day - if I were next door to that I would have to have words with them!

Mr P on the other hand only crows a few times in the morning then maybe a.few times in the day.

He spends the rest of the time looking at the sky for danger, and tidbitting to his ladies.

Two or three times lately I've been aware of someone's having gone into the nest box and is sitting. But later when they're out I check and there's no egg, just a new arrangement of the fake eggs and a nice bowl in the hemp. So I was checking the dates on the eggs in the egg carton and it's been every third day. If they are eating it it's been a really clean job...

Possibly in the covered run they could lay in the corner behind the perch....but they now have access to a long outside run, most of it not anywhere good to lay, but it goes all the way over to the lilac bush, under which maybe could be a good spot. It has a bunch of leaves under it there.

It's been a bit disconcerting. Sometimes there's a lot of "I have to go lay an egg soon" vocalising and I'll check the cameras and eventually see somebody in there, but they leave later with no egg. And sometimes in there a long time. Once or twice in the last month too I'll hear an escort call, but find no egg. Then one will appear a day or two later with no announcement or anything.

Generally nobody is acting off, they're all out and about acting normally these days. A few weeks ago I kept an eye on Peanut who seemed a bit slow and uncomfortable, and that has passed. I'm stumped.

I lived in fear all winter of returning home and finding a hidden cache of eggs

So far I haven't seen any thankfully!!

You know, Farenheit is so messed up. I honestly don't get it. Celsius makes sense. 0 degrees is freezing, -2 is frozen and just 2 is not frozen.
