That soon? I never heard of such a situation.I swear I heard our 3 week old chick, Night, try to crow today! Can it happen that fast?
I like number 3.I'm just chick obsessed right now. You are probably right.
Anyone else have a favorite?
Me too!I'm still seeing a Ned rather than a Nanette.Be interesting to see how they turn out.
Gladly, when I get back to the house. Welcome back! It's great to see you again. Who was in the flock last time you were here or when was it? I can update you on all the comings and goings
Isn't it still peeping?I swear I heard our 3 week old chick, Night, try to crow today! Can it happen that fast?
So Lilly is still with us and in charge.Hattie, Lilly, Maleficent, and Aurora were the flock members last time I checked regularly.
You should call them “The Susan’s”.... a friend of mine had 7 Barred Rocks and two other different breeds... she called the BRs The Susan’s ... Lazy Susan, Black-eyed Susan, Funky Susan........There are 11 total, 5 barnyard mix I hatched in my incubator plus six Barred Rock pullets from the store. The hatched ones are named Dandelion, Night, Honey, Rose, and Star. The Barred Rocks don't have names yet as they haven't really differentiated themselves yet.
I am so glad to hear that Gloria was able to help Fat Bird!
I will be really interested to see if Sydney's position changes now she's a mother. In my flock layers have more status than non~layers I wonder if hatchers have more status than non~hatchers? So Lilly is still with us and in charge.

My darling Maleficent was killed by an unknown predator. I never found out what it was.

So we decided to add to the flock again. I promised Mrs BY Bob that we would add a Polish hen if we ever got any more so that meant I had to find a Polish hen. Well opportunity knocked when someone I knew had to rehome some pullets that had grown up together. One was a Polish, there was also a Barred Rock and a Wyandotte. I did not want 6 hens but I could not in my heart break them up so 3 more hens joined the flock. So here they are in pecking order.

Over a month ago now, Sydney decided that she wanted to hatch eggs. So we decided to let her. @CrazyChookChookLady generously gave me 3 eggs for Sydney to hatch. All 3 hatched but we lost one. So now we also have these two cuties.
