I think if figured out the genetics on the Sophia babies. They will be black laced blue (or something close to)View attachment 3492364
So really dark edges to the adult feathers. If the lacing grows in like golden wyandottes, it will start with feather shafts then expand. Black feathers, then noticeable blue shaft, expanding as they grow.

First sip of coffee does interesting things to my brain.
Yep had my Tea so now I am able to function sort of!

Well I can’t wait to see what their feathers come in as, I was hoping for a more distinct difference but hey, as long as healthy I am happy.

Happy Stars Wars Day everyone!

May The Fourth Be With You

It’s finally stopped raining - for now. And they are calling for a huge warm up by Monday. Hopefully I can get those new babies and mamas outside then.

This morning the mamas were very eager to get out of their small enclosure, but after about 10 min the babies were chirping their displeasure at being cold, I had to move the mamas back into their enclosure to keep everyone safe - Blanche and Dorothy are very interested in what is going on.

I think this weekend will see me working on the Summer House - I can then move the mamas, babies and triplet trouble makers in there.

Happy Stars Wars Day everyone!
That means that Horus, Pippa, Maizie, and whichever was the adoptee of Lark and Indigo turned 1 yesterday, and Whiskey and Kren hatched sometime during the night tonight/tomorrow morning. Everyone is at least a year old!

So they are no longer youngsters, they are all grown up and looking lovely 😊 time sure flies!

Just giving you the benefit of my extensive knowledge on this topic.
I am in absolutely no doubt that they will be chickens. I think there is also a very high probability that they will be beautiful.
You're welcome.

Have a semi- caturday story...posting now.

My bucket trap caught another mouse. Carried the bucket up to where Castor was eating breakfast inside. He started poking around the bottom of the bucket immediately. Out the door I went, him following closely. I tipped the bucket so he could see inside only to have the mouse jump out, right over Castor's back. Off the edge of the patio it went, trying to get behind the step.
